Oil on linen, 10 by 10. I put every shade of red on my palette that I found in my paint drawer from cadmium scarlet through magenta and used most of them. No white mixed in, I tried a touch of naples yellow for the lightest parts.

Portrait of Romy

This is a portrait of my daughter's darling dog Romy. We lost him a few months ago to kidney disease at the age of eight, and we all miss him terribly. Of course I have done a little portrait of him for myself as well.

This is from a snapshot I had of my daughter and me when she was about three. This was prior to digital cameras and the photo was crumbling, so I decided I had to use it for a painting reference before it deteriorated completely.
